Adrien couldn’t begin to tell anyone why, but Paris didn’t feel safe. Sure, people walked around carefree, kids laughed and played as they should, and everyday people could express their anger or sadness without fear. But it didn’t feel safe to Adrien. For the last two years, it felt like the world was holding its breath, and Adrien was waiting for the other shoe to drop. He didn’t know why he was so confident something was coming, why he was so sure that his days as a soldier were far from over. But he was. So he trained to keep himself ready for when whatever-the-hell decides to show itself.
Thousands of years ago, a great kingdom fell to it's knees and vanished entirely, it's people scattering to the winds, the waters, and the earth. Now, a remnant of their lost civilization has been uncovered, and Adrien is drawn to investigate. Where did these people go? Why did they leave? And why does Adrien feel a deep sense of longing for a place that no longer exists?
