“Yes, Ladybug?” He takes another step. They’re standing chest-to-chest now, their faces so close she can see the precise texture of his leather mask, and it feels like all the oxygen has evaporated from the rooftop.
‘Was there something you wanted to say?” His voice is low, and he doesn’t wait for a reply. Eyes glittering, he backs her against the wall, and for a wild moment Ladybug thinks this is what it must feel like to be an akumatised villain.

After Chat Noir revokes his Miraculous in a fit of anger, Marinette is left to pick up the pieces, unsure of exactly when everything went wrong. She wanted a partner who wasn't in love with her, and her wish has been granted in the worst possible way. The Black Cat Miraculous is sent to a supposedly perfect holder and he promises her smooth sailing from here on out, but as her own magic starts to falter, she's forced to question everything she thought she knew. Is she a responsible Guardian, or has she really been hoarding power? Is she in love with Adrien, or is she really obessed with an illusion?
And is it too late to bring back her real partner?
