Ladybug and Chat Noir were no longer friends. She deeply mourned for his comfort, but they were on the brink of separation, pushing each other away for months as their friendship crumbled. His reluctant half-assed efforts to show up put her in a spiral, while her controlling demeanour sent him running to where he was most wanted; in the hands of the ever so powerful and ruthless Monarch.
Controlled like a puppet on strings, Chat Noir almost destroyed the city of Paris as the familiar but also terrifying Chat Blanc, engulfing the city in hot white fire and destruction. Ultimately, Ladybug was close to dying in the fire but barely made it out alive to fix the burning streets. Monarch was out for no mercy, leaving Paris in its worst post-akuma slump ever.
One formidable week later and as the sunny evening came to a close, Paris fell asleep not knowing what dangers were about to approach them. The dangers coming from the one person they trusted the most to protect Paris.
This time, Ladybug wouldn’t be there to save them.
